Is shooting foxes legal?

The short answer is Yes.  

Foxes are not protected for conservation purposes in England.  As the owner or occupier of the property where a problem with foxes occurs, you can decide when to control them.  But you must use a professional, humane fox control service.

Foxes are not vermin; they are wild animals protected under the Animal Welfare Act 2006, and you must not cause unnecessary distress or suffering to a fox - one of the reasons why foxes cannot be trapped and relocated.

Shooting foxes offers a far more humane fox control method than other alternatives, such as snaring, or blocking and destroying their earth.  It's also more effective than expensive fox deterrents that never work.  Email me for professional fox shooting advice.
